Pitbull Kennels In Fresno

The amount of dedication required to control pit bulls-intelligent and powerful by nature-contributes to how misunderstood the breed is. Pit bulls are not as vicious as their reputation suggests, however-in fact, they're obedient, receptive to training and fun-loving dogs. If you're looking for a pit bull in Fresno, Ca., you have a number of options for finding a new companion.

True Line Kennels

True Line Kennels breeds American pit bulls for muscular physiques, broad chests and large heads. They breed knowlwood sterling, greyline and razor's edge pit bloodlines. Despite their imposing appearance, these dogs are raised among other dogs and children-socialized from a young age, they are strong but safe.

Pit bulls hailing from True Line Kennels are registered by the United Kennel Club and the American Bully Kennel Club. This kennel has been in operation for over 20 years.

Fresno Bully Rescue

Fresno Bully Rescue is a shelter providing temporary homes for pit bulls in the Fresno area. It is also a strong advocate for fair treatment of the breed, including the elimination of dog-fighting and educating the public about pit bulls and their potential as pets.

FBR does not breed pit bulls-all of its dogs were rescued or surrendered by families that could no longer provide for them. Available dogs of all ages and sizes are available for viewing on the FBR website.

Various Fresno Animal Shelters

Dedicated pit bull breeders in Fresno are scarce, especially because of the economic circumstances that lead many pit bulls to be turned over to shelters and rescue organizations. The Central Valley of California has one of the highest rates of euthanization in the state-there are simply more dogs than the area can provide for.

Fortunately, Fresno is home to shelters that provide temporary homes for many breeds of dogs, including pit bulls.

The Animal Compassion Team in Squaw Valley, just outside of Fresno, not only adopts pets but holds fundraisers, as well. The "Wine for Waggy Tails" wine night is a monthly fundraising event that benefits the shelter.

The Central California SPCA in Fresno also houses homeless dogs, including pit bulls. Its list of available dogs can be seen online, along with pictures of the animals (See Resources).
