Players delete the mailbox in both the Sims and the Sims 2 to avoid paying bills. Deleting the mailbox can cause game play issues. In the Sims 2, the Repoman comes if you don't pay the bills. Programs exist that allow users to download a new mailbox, but those may not work. The best way to restore the mailbox is to move the Sim family out of the house. The lot may have to be deleted. If you play the Sims 2, you can put any important items in the Sims inventory to move to the next lot.
Instructions
1. Go to the 'Neighborhood' view if you aren't already there.
2. Click on the move out button.
3. Click on the house to move the family out.
4. The family loads into the family menu at the bottom of the screen.
5. Click on the empty house. With no family inside, the lot loads in build mode. If the mailbox hasn't reappeared, exit back to the neighborhood screen and delete the lot.
6. Move the family back into a lot. The mailbox will be there.
