"Virtual Families" is a life-simulation game released by Last Day of Work Software LLC. in 2009. The game is available on several platforms, such as Windows, Mac OSX, iPhone, Android and Palm OS. Players guide a character through various stages in life, starting with finding a mate, having children, raising a family and eventually death. When one character dies, the player continues the game by gaining control of the children that succeeded the now deceased parent.
Instructions
1. Encourage the husband and wife to have a child or, if they are unwilling, try to get the random "Adopt a Child" event by passing in-game time. It is better if you do this when the couple is young and their happiness meter is high.
2. Nurse the child for four hours, or two years of in-game time, to get the baby to mature into a toddler. At this point you will no longer need to keep the mother at home full time to care for the child.
3. Play the game for an additional 32 hours of real life time to pass 16 years of in-game time. After 36 total hours your baby will have grown to be 18 years old in the game and will become an adult. At this point, your child will venture off to college or get a job and will not return until your main character passes away and you have to decide who to continue playing as.
