Surf City is located on North Carolina's Topsail Island, a 26-mile barrier island that is only 500 to 1500 feet wide. Surf City is a popular family beach destination known for its clean and uncrowded beaches, coastal wildlife and sea-turtle-rescue program. Well-behaved dogs who are over a year old are welcome at the Surfside Motel. There is a one-time $10 pet fee (as of January 2010). The Surfside Motel is located directly on the beach in the center of town, just two blocks from the only traffic light on Topsail Island. Thirteen rooms are available and the motel features a large sundeck with ocean views and an outdoor shower. Picnic tables are available for guests. All rooms on the second floor look out over the ocean and are only accessible by stairs. Rooms have either two doubles or one queen bed and include refrigerators, microwaves, air conditioning, cable TV and bathrooms with showers. First level rooms have street-front views.

SeaScape Motel
Centrally located in Surf City, the SeaScape is an eight-unit motel just 500 feet from the beach. The SeaScape offers cable TV, microwaves, mini-fridges, coffee makers and wireless Internet in every room. Rooms come with one double, two doubles or one king bed with sitting areas and full bathrooms. A suite is available, featuring two bedrooms (one with queen, one with two doubles), a full kitchen, separate dining area, separate living room and one full and one half bath. As of January 2010 there is no pet fee, but the owner requests that guests bring a blanket or flat sheet for the pet's use.

Tiffany's Motel is a small, family-owned motel that welcomes dogs 25 pounds and under. Close to restaurants, shopping, water parks and fishing piers, Tiffany's is just a few blocks walk from Topsail Beach. Rooms range from singles to king suites which include a large kitchen and dining area, separate living area, two bedrooms, private master bath, queen sleeper sofas, 42-inch flat-screen TVs and spacious private decks. Amenities include two swimming pools, an elevated sundeck, daily maid service and an on-site laundromat. Tiffany's charges a non-refundable pet fee.
