Donate To A Local Charity In Minneapolis

Donate to charities that are in need.

Donating to local charities helps you to clean out items from your house or apartment that you don't use and lets you help others who need the items that you do not want. Items that you want to donate should be gently used or new. Charities prefer that these items are cleaned before they are donated so that the charity can immediately put the item to use. Minneapolis is a large city and there are a wide variety of charities to choose from when donating items including children's hospitals, animal rescues and food pantries.

Instructions

1. Gather the items that you wish to donate and put them in one place. Clean the items and check that they are still usable and that there is no damage to them. If you wish to donate money a bank check or a money order will help to keep track of the money that you donated to the charity.

2. Separate the items that you want to donate into groups for each charity that you want to donate to. Pet supplies should be put into one area so you can donate them to the Minneapolis Humane Society. Children's supplies such as toys and clothing should be placed together so that they can go to the Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. Pantry goods such as canned vegetables, rice, flour and other non perishables should be separated to go to the Emergency Food Shelf Network in Minneapolis.

3. Contact each Minneapolis charity that you intend to drop off donations at. Check with the charity to make sure they need the item that you wish to donate.

4. Drop off the items that you wish to donate at the charity of your choice or arrange for the item to get picked up by the charity if the item is large and bulky.
