Dogs need certain vaccinations in order to stay healthy, as caccines prevent dogs from getting diseases and parasites. Vaccines work by injecting small or inactivated doses of the actual disease into the blood stream. While some vaccines are not absolutely necessary, it is still highly recommended to get them. Here are a few of the most common vaccinations for dogs.
Rabies Vaccine
Rabies in dogs is almost always fatal and can easily be spread to humans.
Kennel Cough Viruses Vaccine
These highly infectious viruses cause a loud, persistent cough, but Kennel Cough is rarely fatal.
Distemper Vaccine
Distemper attacks the respiratory system and typically results in seizures and death.
Parvovirus Vaccine
Parvovirus destroys white blood cells, which severely inhibits the immune system.
Lyme Disease
Lyme disease causes lethargy and arthritis. It is not a fatal disease.
Corona Virus Vaccine
Corona virus causes chronic diarrhea and is most often found in puppies.
