Volunteer At Your Local Animal Shelter

Volunteer at Your Local Animal Shelter

Want to do something to benefit your community and help out animals? Volunteer at your local animal shelter today!

Instructions

1. The first step to volunteering at your local shelter is by finding out how to. The best place to start is the yellow pages. Here you can look up your local animal control center or shelter and get started. You may also be able to find a website dedicated to them online where you will be able to email someone in charge of the establishment.

2. Volunteer to walk the dogs! These places may not allow you to do too many specific things, as they have workers and vets on hand, but they always can use the extra hands to walk dogs. This will give all of the animals there an equal chance to interact with humans too!

3. Ask to help out with their mailing list. Sometimes animal shelters need to send out flyers for donations and charities. Volunteer to get this done faster.

4. Donate food and animal supplies. These things help tremendously and will be greatly appreciated!

5. Get other people involved as well. Volunteer to spread the word and bring more help. This is always one of the most helpful things you can do!
