Located in sunny southern Florida, Miami Beach is a popular tourist destination, rich in international culture. This island city hosts over 35 percent of the 10 million tourists who visit the Miami area each year, according to Miami Beach 411.


Beach Life


Spend time in the seven miles of beaches that Miami Beach offers, playing volleyball, snorkeling, jet skiing or sun bathing. Walk or roller blade along the boardwalk. Enjoy the shops on Lincoln Road, Ocean Drive or Collins Avenue, including boutique stores carrying couture clothing in an oceanfront atmosphere.


Natural Wildlife


The Miami Beach Botanical Gardens has 4.5 acres that features orchids, tropical plants, a Japanese garden and a "living wall" vertical landscape, perfect for a peaceful day. Experience the nearby Everglades National Park, the third-largest park in the continental U.S., by taking a guided tour, camping, hiking, canoeing or birdwatching.


South Beach


Take a walking tour of the Art Deco buildings of the South Beach area during the day, offered by the Miami Design Preservation League. For an active nightlife, visit the trendy restaurants and night clubs, open all night long until 5 a.m. or later. Keep in mind dress codes apply to clubs, so do not wear shorts or casual sports attire.
