What Does A New Resident Do In "Animal Crossing Wild World"

"

Animal Crossing: Wild World" is a life-simulation game for the Nintendo DS. The game allows players to enter a virtual world where they can work, have fun and socialize every day of the year. Although the gameplay is open-ended, there are a few common things that every player will do upon entering the town.

Work For Tom Nook

Upon entering a new town, a player is set up with his own house courtesy of Tom Nook. The house, however, isn't free and has a mortgage that must be paid off. Tom Nook offers a job working for him at his shop, called "Nook's Cranny." Players must tap directly on a text box (using the Nintendo DS' stylus) that says "OK," "Yes" or "I'll Do It!" to accept the job. Typical jobs consist of delivering goods to residents in the town and playing flowers or trees. A player will receive bells (Wild World's currency) upon completing any of these jobs.

Meet All the Town Residents

Wild World features several anthropomorphic animals that serve as your neighbors in the town. The animals are diverse and can include giraffes, frogs, cats, wolves, raccoons, elephants and dogs. Each neighbor will interact with the player in her own way. Some animals may have a sense of humor, others will be rude or standoffish, while other neighbors may be quirky and weird to talk to. Neighbors will become close friends with the player, and give her gifts and visit her house. Players must approach the residents and tap directly on them or press "A" to be officially introduced.

Collecting Items

In Wild World, players get to collect furniture, paintings, electronics or other items. These items are gathered by purchasing them from Tom Nook, receiving gifts from friends, or taking them from the recycling bin or the lost and found. Most of the items can be displayed in your house in the living room or stored inside cabinets and the refrigerator. When inside the player's house, tap the icon in the top-right portion of the screen. From there, players can add items from their inventory into the house.

Visit The Attractions

In addition to the neighbor's houses, a player can visit several fun attractions in his town. In the museum, players can display the fish, paintings, fossils and insects they collected. At the top floor of the museum is an observatory where players can view stars and constellations in the night sky. The Roost is a place where players can drink coffee and listen to music from K.K. Slider, the singing dog. In order to request a song from K.K. Slider, players will tap directly on the dog or press "A" after approaching it. The Abel Sisters sell clothing and accessories, and players can change their hairstyle at the barber shop.
