Adopt A Sea Monkey

Sea monkeys do not look like this.

Sea Monkeys have been the most popular, exaggerated and mysterious pets available for children since the 1960's. The mythological exploits of Sea Monkey communities have been discussed, written about, and memorialized in cartoon for years. While most who adopt a Sea Monkey never really see them build the fabled communities and cities we've heard so much about, they are still a highly sought after pet.

Instructions

1. Determine whether you want a live Sea Monkey or a virtual one. Virtual Sea Monkeys are no muss and no fuss. Real Sea Monkeys will require a fish tank, food, care and cleaning.

2. If adopting a virtual Sea Monkey, visit a website like like the one listed below and sign up for your free virtual Sea Monkey.

3. When adopting a real Sea Monkey, go to a retail store that has Sea Monkey kits and purchase your Sea Monkey. Keep in mind, Sea Monkeys are not monkeys, so don't be surprised when your Sea Monkey package is completely sealed and air-tight. Some Sea Monkey kits include tanks so you don't need anything additional to it up.

4. Read the instructions on your Sea Monkey package for setting up its tank, depositing the creatures into the water and other details.

5. When adopting a Sea Monkey that did not include a tank in its package, purchase a tank, pebbles for the bottom of the tank, and some plants for the tank, then set it up.

6. There will be products available to enhance your Sea Monkeys' short lives. There are toys, foods and treats available at retail locations and through mail order.
