Help Dogs At The Pulaski Animal Shelter

You can adopt a dog from the Pulaski County Animal Shelter.


The Pulaski County Animal Shelter takes in stray and lost animals in the Somerset, Ky., area. The shelter regularly has dogs and cats available for adoption and provides vaccinations and grooming for them. Citizens of Pulaski County also rely on the shelter to capture stray cats and dogs that have gotten loose on their property. There are a number of ways the average person can help dogs at the Pulaski County Animal Shelter.


Instructions


1. Volunteer your time at the Pulaski County Animal Shelter. Call the main telephone number at 606-679-6432 or go into the shelter and ask the employees whether volunteers are needed to work with dogs. Volunteers can help in a number of ways, including walking the dogs, grooming animals, answering phones and spreading awareness of the shelter's work.


2. Make a donation to the Pulaski County Animal Shelter. Call the shelter and inform the employees that you would like to contribute to their cause. They accept donations of money as well as pet food and supplies. To donate pet supplies or food, simply bring the materials into the shelter and place them in the donation box. To donate money, call the shelter and ask make a monetary donation. Make sure to get a receipt for your donations, which can be written off your income taxes.


3. Adopt one of the dogs at the Pulaski County Animal Shelter. Its website contains a list of dogs that are up for adoption, and you can go into the shelter to meet the dogs personally. The adoption fee you pay for the dog will help to fund the shelter, and taking a dog will allow the shelter to serve more dogs.


4. Report to the Pulaski County Animal Shelter any stray dogs that you find roaming Pulaski County. If you see a stray dog, reporting it to the shelter will help get it safely off the street. The stray dog may have been lost, and reporting it to the shelter could reunite it with its owner.
