Dolphin Games For The Nintendo Ds

Games like "Nintendogs" proved to game developers that virtual pet games could be a phenomenal success on the Nintendo DS. Dolphins are playful creatures, so it only makes sense that they'd be the subject of several Nintendo DS games. Players can train, rescue, feed and learn about dolphin species playing the several dolphin games for the Nintendo DS.

Petz Wild Animalz: Dolphinz

Published by UbiSoft, "Petz Wild Animalz: Dolphinz" debuted on the Nintendo DS on November 13, 2007. In this family-oriented virtual pet game, players work in an aquatic park and marine sanctuary, caring for and training dolphins. On top of dolphins, players also care for killer whales, pink flamingos and penguins. Players must feed, entertain and train endangered animals and renovate the park in order to bring in more guests, complete missions and thwart the schemes of an evil corporation. Along the way, players learn about endangered marine species. Using a WiFi connection, players can invite friends to check out each other's parks.

Discovery Kids: Dolphin Discovery

"Discovery Kids: Dolphin Discovery" is a virtual pet game in which players explore the sea and collect hidden treasures with their new-found dolphin friends. Released on March 26, 2009 and published by 505 Games, "Discovery Kids: Dolphin Discovery" is based on the cable channel's programming. Players must care for and train their pet dolphins. With the right amount of training, players can have their dolphins perform in aquatic shows at theme parks. The game awards successful players with new dolphins to train. "Discovery Kids: Dolphin Discovery" also features 2d mini-games reminiscent of the 16-bit Sega Genesis game "Ecco the Dolphin."

Petz Dolphinz Encounter

Players in "Petz Dolphinz Encounter" board the Delphis submarine as part of the Ocean Rescue Team, rescuing and learning about dolphins. UbiSoft published this Magic Pockets-developed game, released on October 20, 2009. Players travel through eight different seas and oceans, rescuing endangered dolphins from dangerous environments and using submarine equipment to monitor and photograph their activity. Along the way, players learn about more than 50 sea creatures. Players using the Nintendo DSi Camera can take pictures of themselves and incorporate them into the game to become true members of the Ocean Rescue Team.
