How Big Do Labradoodles Get

The intelligent, happy and sociable Labradoodle was originally bred to be a service dog, but it has come to be known as a wonderful companion as well. This popular breed comes in three sizes.

Standard Size

The standard size Labradoodle generally reaches 20 to 24 inches in height and 45 to 60 lbs. in weight but can grow larger, depending on the parents' sizes.

Medium Size

The medium size Labradoodle should measure 17 to 20 inches at the shoulders and 30 to 45 lbs. in weight.

Miniature Size

The miniature Labradoodle can measure from 14 to 16 inches in height and can weigh 15 to 25 lbs.

Fun Fact

In 1989, Wally Conran of the Royal Guide Dogs Of Australia began crossing a standard poodle with a Labrador retriever to develop an ideal service dog.

Fun Fact

A vision-impaired woman in Hawaii had asked the Royal Guide Dogs of Australia for a dog that would not affect her allergy-prone husband, and she got a Labradoodle.
