Reschedule Your Court Date In Seguin Texas

Seguin, Texas requires court date rescheduling requests in writing.

Seguin is a town in southeast Texas that is part of Guadalupe County, and falls under the umbrella of that county's court system. However, the city's own courthouse, the Seguin Municipal Court, handles infractions that occur within the city, such as traffic violations. Rescheduling a court date, called requesting a continuance, is not usually easy but is sometimes necessary.

Instructions

1. Decide if asking for a continuance is the right thing for you to do. According to Seguin Municipal Court, there are a handful of valid reasons for requesting a continuance: If the date falls on a religious holy day that prohibits you from participating in court; or if you feel that more time is necessary for justice in your case.

2. Put your request in writing and submit it to the court before your scheduled trial date.

3. If you are claiming religious reasons, the request must be in the form of an affidavit, which is a legal form witnessed by an authorized legal official.
