Southbury Connecticut Hotels That Allow Dogs

Some families like to take the dog along on vacation.


Southbury is a large town in southwest Connecticut's New Haven County with a population of around 19,000. The area surrounding Southbury has numerous places for hiking and long walks which is ideal for those traveling with the family dog. The town has one pet-friendly hotel, with a few others located just a short drive away along Interstate 84.


Crowne Plaza Hotel


The Crowne Plaza hotel is located just east of downtown Southbury, close to Interstate 84. It is a large hotel which offers sizable, well-decorated guest rooms. Amenities include a gym, sauna, whirlpool hot tub and an indoor swimming pool. The hotel allows well behaved pets for a fee that, as of February 2011, stands at $25 per night. The hotel's Arrowhead restaurant serves classic American dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Other dining options nearby include Restaurant 121, Colonial Tavern and Juniper's Restaurant. Attractions include dog walking trails, tennis courts and Lake Quassapaug.


Holiday Inn Danbury


The Holiday Inn is located in the town of Danbury, just over 14 miles west of Southbury, near to Interstate 84. It is a pet-friendly hotel allowing animals under 75 lbs. for a nightly fee which, as of February 2011, stands at $15. Other guest amenities include a basic gym, outdoor pool and an on-site laundry. Teddy's Restaurant is on-site offering breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Other nearby dining options include Blue Chip Restaurant, Ichiro Japanese and Uncle Al's Hot Dogs. Things to do nearby include Danbury Museum, Bennett Memorial Park and Danbury Ski Club.


Rocky River Inn


The Rocky River Inn is just under 17 miles northwest of Southbury, in New Milford. It offers some pet-friendly guest rooms by prior arrangement for a small fee which, as of February 2011, stands at $15 per night. Hotel amenities include a full gym, private jogging routes and a guest laundry. The hotel does not have its own restaurant, but Adrienne, River Cafe and The Cookhouse are all within a short drive. Places to visit in the area include Candlewood Lake, Hopkins Vineyard and Lime Rock Park.


Danbury Plaza


The Danbury Plaza is located just over 21 miles from Southbury, along Interstate 84. It is a pet-friendly, high-end hotel which allows well-behaved animals for no additional fee. The hotel's amenities include an indoor pool, guest laundry and a business center with meeting rooms. The Ridgeway Grill is the hotel's own full-service restaurant, catering for all three daily meals. Other dining options nearby include Rosy Tomorrows, Panda House and Spasi Restaurant. Attractions include Danbury Raceway, New England Military Museum and Danbury Duck Pin Lanes.
