Groom For Shelter Animals

You can support shelter animals with a pet grooming day.

If you run an animal grooming business, you are likely a lover of all types of animals. If you wish to give to animals in need, an effective way to do so is by holding an annual or semi-annual grooming day, and giving part or all your proceeds to a local animal shelter. To do so, you will have to speak to animal shelters in your area and find one to support.

Instructions

1. Talk to local animals shelters and find one that is in particular need of funds. The majority of shelters are always seeking donations, so it may be hard to choose one over another. If you cannot pick one, consider donating the proceeds of your event to more than one shelter.

2. Pick a date for your event and begin to advertise it. Post information about the event at your store, on neighborhood event boards and contact your local newspaper and radio station to see about costs for advertising. If you are a member of an online message board in your community, provide the details of the event to other message board members.

3. Ask as many people as possible to attend your pet grooming day to support an animal shelter. Explain that with the purchase of a pet grooming session, you will donate part or all of the funds to the animal shelter.

4. Encourage your entire staff (or, if you're a smaller business, recruit capable pet groomers) to lend their time for the event. If you don't have to pay these groomers, you will be able to donate more money to the shelter. Explain to the customers that your groomers have donated their time so that they'll be appreciated.

5. Set a specific price per animal grooming session, or simply keep your regular prices the same for the charity event. Log all the payments you receive and make a subsequent donation to the animal shelter or shelters with whom you've arranged to run the event.
