Host A Littlest Pet Shop Birthday

Littlest Pet Shop animals are a favorite toy of many children. With a little creativity, any home can be transformed into a Littlest Pet Shop village. Your child can even help with this transformation. Incorporating fun animal-themed activities and her favorite toys makes any child's birthday memorable. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

Party Plan

1. Cut paw prints out of construction paper and make a path up to the front door. Transform a large appliance box into the adoption center. Stack smaller boxes on their sides and fill with stuffed animals. Using poster board, make a sign saying "Welcome to the Littlest Pet Shop." Cut out large foam flowers to stick to the walls. Use streamers and balloons to decorate the ceiling and doorways.

2. Transform guests into Littlest Pet Shop animals as they arrive. Paint orange and black stripes for tigers, white with black spots for dalmatians, whiskers and a black nose for a kitty. Offer Littlest Pet Shop coloring pages and crayons while the other children are waiting.

3. Purchase a stuffed animal for each child from a dollar store. Have each child pull a number from a basket that corresponds to an animal, which they were going to adopt. Let the child select a name for his animal and complete an adoption certificate for the pet. Take a picture of each child and pet. These pictures can be used for thank-you notes after the party.

4. Make an ID necklace for the children and their adopted pet using letter beads and pony beads. Design homes out of empty shoes boxes. Provide colorful paper and stickers for the children to decorate the outside and inside of their boxes.

5. Create a paw-print cake using a nine-inch round cake as the middle of the print. Place four cupcakes around the top to form a paw print. Decorate the cake with Littlest Pet Shop figurines.

6. Play animal-themed games. One suggestion is to match the animal food. A dog goes with bone-shaped graham crackers; a cat with Goldfish crackers; a hamster with gummy strawberries and any others you would like to do. You can then make a trail mix from the animal food for the children to take home.

Another game is a bone hunt. Cut six bones out of construction paper using one color per child. Hide the bones throughout the backyard. Have the children find them.

Have the children act out an animal without using any noise in a wild game of animal charades.
